The Third Annual ABQ Zine Fest is ONE MONTH AWAY! To help keep the excitement going, we’re having several “Pre-Zine Events” throughout the month of September!
On Tuesdays in September, swing by The Tannex in Barelas for GAME NIGHT! Come hang out listen to music, drink coffee and play board games! Check the zine library, or work on your zines. Stop by The Tannex around 6:30pm, 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24!
Coming up on Sunday, September 15, you won’t want to miss our sexy fundraiser, Dirty Zine Reading! Depraved zinesters read from their naughty tales, in between readings, we’ll be tantalized by music from the house band, Wet Medicine! We’ll raffle off some prizes, peek at some shameless video clips curated by A. Lyman, and Billy da Bunny will launch his geekster porn site! There’s even going to be a D.I.Y. photo booth! Although this is a good-humored, non-sexist, sex-positive, tongue-in-cheek kind of evening, it’s an ADULTS ONLY event– no humans under 18 allowed! $5-$10 Suggested donation. The fun starts at 8pm.
To wrap up the Pre-Zine events, get ready for the second annual Seek & Zine– it’s an informational scavenger hunt, and zine-making event! We’ll be posting more information about the starting point and the finish line, in the coming weeks. Please keep your eyes on the Seek & Zine web page for updates!
